Countdown to Christmas: 3 Days Judie Tasch and Her Beautiful One of A Kind Father Christmas FIgures

If you've read some of my other blogs, you know that I love collecting House of Hatten Santas.

I've been fortunate to pick up a few this year off eBay for very reasonable prices. One particular style is that of Judie Tasch.

I've added a nutcracker made in Germany who was rather pricey and deserved a place of honor.

I paid a rather decent amount on both the Santa in the white robe and the Santa in the green robe, but I made up for up when I purchased the smaller ornament with a lot of other collectible Santas.

Judie Tasch is an amazing folk artist who crafts beautiful vintage style dolls with simple and subtly expressive faces. This is one of her originals. Unfortunately, I have house payments, so he's not in my collection, but I have a few with the same "face" that I love. I wish I had more to say about her but apparently she's very illusive and I found little about the actual artist available online.

Either way, enjoy looking at her beautiful work. If you get the chance (and your house is paid for), why not add one of her originals to your collection!

Recently, I discovered the work of Karen Vander Logt via Santamakers Facebook page.

Her dolls are so impressive and her detail is amazing!

I borrowed a few images from her Facebook page to share with you.

Check out her biography and her website!

But for now, enjoy!

Countdown to Christmas: 41 Days Charming Santas by Damian Salinas (DS Carvings)

Obviously, a favorite pastime of mine is looking up Santas on eBay.
One "face" that keeps popping up is the one carved by self-taught artisan, Damien Salinas.
His price are very reasonable and I would compare the quality of his work to two of my favorites, Anthony Costanza and that of Paul and Camille Bolinger.

I recommend you take a look at DS Carvings current listings on eBay and pick out a few one of a kind Santas for your Christmas gift list, and why not get one for yourself!
